Sustainable initiatives at Intercargo Scandinavia’s HQ
Green initiatives
At our headquarters in Hadsten, Denmark, we have implemented a number of sustainable initiatives that reflect our core values regarding responsibility and sustainability. We work in a goal-oriented way in our process of creating an environmentally friendly workplace and to fostering a culture, where our employees make sustainable choices – especially within the fields of transportation and energy consumption.
Among other things, our green initiatives include:
- Electric charging stations: Available for use for our employees’ electric cars.
- Energy-effective heat pumps:We have switched to air-to-water heat pumps that run on sustainable energy.
- Solar panels on the roof and LED lighting: These initiatives contribute to our environmentally friendly energy consumption.
We all bear part of the responsibility
As a large company, we have a special responsibility for the green transition and for sustainability. Our commitment to these things applies outwardly as well as internally in our own company. We strive to be a role model for our employees and to show them and others that we are ahead of the curve with sustainable initiatives.
To us, sustainability starts at the core. We want to offer our drivers the best facilities, as we believe that happy drivers result in a better service for our customers. Our drivers are an important part of the team, and we see to it that their working conditions are as optimal as possible, when they are away from their families for long periods of time.
Sustainable recycling and resource management
At Intercargo Scandinavia we have implemented several initiatives in order to encourage recycling and responsible resource management. We believe that even small changes can have a big effect and contribute to a more sustainable future. Here are some of our initiatives:
- Recyclable mats:All of our mats are made of reusable plastic, which reduces our use of resources as well as the amount of waste.
- Sustainable coffee cups:Our coffee cups are made of materials such as coffee husks and coffee residue, which reduces the need for traditional cups and minimises the environmental impact.
- Recycling and organic products in our bathrooms:
We use recycled toilet paper and paper towels in order to create a balance between hygiene and environmental responsibility. - Diminishing our waste of food: On a daily basis, we adjust the amount of food for our lunch plan in order to avoid wasting food and thereby minimising our effect on the environment.
- Effective waste sorting: We sort waste in eight different containers in order to ensure correct recycling, which reduces the need for new resources.
Effective waste sorting:
All of these initiatives are part of our ongoing effort to integrate sustainability into our daily work. We continue to explore new opportunities and innovative solutions in order to make our business operations even more environmentally friendly and responsible.
