Faster and more environmentally friendly transportation
By including transport by train in our logistics network, we have got advantages in the form of faster delivery times and significant CO2 reductions. For example, on the transportation route between Oslo and Narvik, we have managed to shorten the transportation time by 18 hours, and at the same time, we have significantly reduced our CO2 emissions.

HVO-biodiesel:
Climate-friendly fuel for our fleet of vehicles
We have reduced our dependence on fossil fuel by using HVO biodiesel. It is a sustainable fuel made from hydrogenated vegetable oil. HVO biodiesel reduces the CO2 emission with up to 90 %, and it contributes to a more responsible use of resources.
Optimisation of resource consumption:
Teaching our drivers how to eco drive
Our eco driving programme teaches our drivers to optimise the resource consumption by monitoring their performance and identifying areas of improvement. By analysing driving patterns, braking, fuel consumption, and idling time, we can teach our drivers to drive more economically and reduce the effect on the environment. We also reward the drivers who achieve good results, which motivates them and others to keep improving.

Optimisation of load capacity and CO2 reduction
Here at Intercargo Scandinavia, we use double/tandem lorries that are 25 metres long, and by doing that, we can optimise our load capacity and reduce our CO2 emission. These longer trucks make it possible to transport larger amounts of goods at once, which reduces the number of transports and thereby minimises the environmental effect.
Analyses and reports guide us on our way
Our dedicated data specialists analyse transport data in order to reduce our effect on the environment. With the help from advanced tracking tools and analysis tools, we deliver detailed reports to our customers. These reports give them a full overview of their CO2 emissions and help them to reduce their environmental impact.
Focus on new technology
We are curious about new technological advances, and we follow the development regarding electric trucks very carefully. Electric trucks have the potential to revolutionise the transportation of goods by eliminating the CO2 emission from our fleet of vehicles. We continuously evaluate the opportunities for implementing this technology in our logistics strategy.
Recognition for our environmental initiatives
Our commitment to sustainable logistics has resulted in several awards in Addsecure’s annual ‘Eco-Driving Challenge’. We have won the award for best improvement across all countries among 75 contestants as well as for the biggest CO2 reduction in Denmark and the highest average eco driving score in Denmark. We have also been nominated for the Effie award by ‘Danske Speditører’ (Danish Freight Forwarders Association). They nominated us because of our environmentally friendly solutions.

We are dedicated to minimising the number of empty trailers in order to ensure efficient and eco-friendly transportation. Our commitment to sustainability ensures that our transport solutions are reliable as well as environmentally friendly.
CO2 calculation for our customers
We offer CO2 reports to our customers so that they can follow their emissions based on actual shipments by train or truck. We take into account that several customers’ goods are often transported at once, and we therefore distribute the emission according to how much each customer is transporting. We are always open to having a dialogue about how we can collaborate and reduce the emission of CO2 even more.
